Doesn't this cake look to die for? If I had all of the ingredients in my pantry this beauty would be baking in my oven as I type this...I can even imagine how she smells....umm:) but I shall practice patience and wait until my little local grocer opens in the morning to pick up the missing items.
Technology is amazing and through it we can share ideas, stories, stay connected and for the sweet lovers out there like me we can search out, locate and find our next dream desert. This picture here is from a pin my sister Jamie had posted on her Facebook page. My sisters and I love to cook and we sure know how to eat some good food. Thanks to Jamie and the creator of this cake Mom On TimeOut I get to bake a wonder tomorrow and invite my girlfriends over for tea!
Seeing this recipe and planning the time to bake it tomorrow and have girl tea time among all that I have to do in my day seems to always be an easy task! We women love to gather together and if sweets are involved it's a guaranteed good time to be had by all.
A great cup of tea of a frothy cappuccino will set the mood for great girl talk... Am I right? When I bake sweets or cook dinners for my family it brings me so much pleasure. To make healthy, great tasting food is a passion of mine and I am thankful to have a family who shares the love of food with me.
But isn't there something about baking that feels almost magical sometimes? We put our heart into what we bake, thinking about our loved ones and looking forward to sharing the creation at the table. I have an Aunt in Romania who cooks and bakes incredible and I have tried and continue to try to cook as well as she does. I recently asked her, Matusa (Aunt) How can your food taste so good every time and always be so special? She simply said... Joanna I put my heart into what I make for my family! Isn't that sweet? Every time I am cooking or baking in my kitchen I am reminded of her sweet kind hearted response...
We live in a fast paced culture with fast food stands on almost every corner... those juicy cheese burgers are great from time to time but isn't it better for us to take our time, plan our meals...with healthy fresh ingredients and cook with our heart for our families?
Have a wonderful week friends. I'll let you know how my delicious Carrot Cake turns out tomorrow:)
Here's the recipe if your interested in baking with me virtually! Let me know how yours turns out.
