It's 8:22am as I start this blog on Monday March 10th. The sun. Is still rising above Sarasota and the island of Longboat Key where I live is stretching its arms and body and waking. It's the beauty in the morning that captivates me each and everyday. Whether I am waking in Czech Republic, Romania or here in a Florida the mornings are my favorite time of day!
The birds have begun singing a melody now as if they knew I'd be here and are showing off their talents. The pelicans and cranes are stretching their necks back and forth and looking at the bay with hungry eyes but dreading that first plunge into the cool water to hunt their breakfast!
A fisherman just idled by and even 100 feet from me and my bench his smile could be seen. He is happy to be out on the water this morning or maybe coming in from an early fishing trip!
The fish are jumping sporadically in the distance I can hear the blows of the dolphins coming up for air! The air is cool and there's still dew on the grass which soaked my socks as I just treaded right out my back door towards my beloved bench on the bay to take in this beautiful morning!
The salty air and new day makes me smile and inspires me to go about my day with an even better attitude. It's the simple things in life that make me happy... fulfilled!
When I'm out speaking to groups or coaching I am always sharing my CRAZY U philosophy. "Living outside the norms to be happy, healthy and successful"
(The sun is hiding behind some clouds now and it's to chilly for me to enjoy....my coffee is getting cold and needs to be refilled... So back through the dewy grass I go)
ok I'm back!!!
Today I'd like to highlight a key to living CRAZY.
Being aware of our best time of day and taking time to embrace life is "crazy" living! The positive energy you gain from listening to your body and being aware of your needs, desires, fears, loves, passions mean that you begin understanding what and who you truly are.
I see Soooo many people walking around as if we live a masquerade. Only in the quiet of their homes do they take off their masks and open up to who they really are and some can't even do that because they've lived un authentic lives for so long they've lost touch with their true self.
Today I want you to consider yourself a pi (private investigator). And it's your job to use your sharp awareness to pin point all of the things about life you love and are passionate about.
In your journal (you better go get a journal if you haven't already) draw a line down the center of the page. At the top of the page draw a smily face in one and a frowning face in the other!
Without reservations and fears begin making a list of all of the positive things you love in the "happy column" and beneath the frowny face write the things you dislike!
If you have to use more pages just do it and keep writing... Take your journal with you and write as you observe things throughout your day.
Having a realistic view of these simple yet so important likes and dislikes are essential to living an authentic life and the more we rid ourselves or distance our selves from the dislikes and surround ourselves with our likes than we are happier, healthier and living a "crazy" life.
How many people do you know live very unhappy lives? With our keen awareness of their lives we see simple things they could change and a huge difference would be made for their overall well being. Sometimes this can be poisonous work environments, bad eating habits, lack of physical activity, being bored by sitting around when there is a big world to explore and not living their passions so therefore they are bitter and envious towards others who do!
Take time today to be aware of YOU! And little by little we will make positive changes to bring you closer to living a "crazy" life!
Here's a quote from one of my dear friends who I'm blessed with in life!
"Only think thoughts that make you feel good. They are the sneak previews of your future." - Brian Hill
This quote continues to encourage me and keep me focused and I hope it does for you today as well!
