My sweet, beautiful and extremely intelligent niece Kaylin celebrated her birthday on July 1st. I am so grateful she and I were able to spend an entire week together in June to play, have girl talk, write and share her greatest passion of reading.
Reflecting back on June and the last six months of the year I thought of some lessons I've learned that could help you Kaylin to continue growing into a strong amazing woman.
I hope you find some of these ideas helpful on your life path as well!
1. Take Adventures... Often!
Get out in nature and breath the fresh air and move your body and explore!!! Take a trip and explore a new area... taste new food... meet new people!!!
2. Your Health is priceless... value it... take care of yourself...
Total wellness is not just lacing up your shoes and clocking miles... it's more... I believe total wellness is body, mind and spirit. Regular exercise doing things you enjoy that make you sweat is extremly important... as well as meditation, yoga, dance, juicing and spiritual practice no matter what you choose.. Christianity, Buddhism, etc.
Here are some suggestions that I love:

3. Rest when you are tired
This is Micha worn out from our long journey traveling to Europe... of course life doesn't permit us to so easily curl up some where and sleep when we feel like it but it's important to listen to your body and when it tells you to slow down and rest... do it!
As much as you can. play. don't ever loose your curiosity and ability to have fun. cut loose. enjoy life.
5. Spend time with your siblings
I am thankful for my two beautiful strong amazing sisters and my handsome fun and caring little brother
6. Make time for family... cherish them... love on them... honor them... kiss them ALOT
I am so grateful for my beautiful, loving and supportive family. These images are from Father's Day and my Granny's 80th birthday!
Be active in your families life by being present... it doesn't mean you have to physically be present but call your loved ones, send them notes, let them know they are cherished and loved.
7. Hug ALOT and tightly
Hug tightly all you love... and do it as often as you can
8. Enjoy tasty treats in moderation and eat slowly
I really enjoy delicious sweets and have learned over the years to treasure them and eat them in moderation and slowly... This is an image from one of my favorite sweet shops in Sarasota Florida (Morton's). I like to go Morton's, order a cup of coffee and choose one small treat... then I sit down with my journal and pencil and while I write I sip my coffee and take small bites of my chosen treat (The coconut cake is to die for and my favorite).
9. Try new food
