The desire to wake up and rush into our day is a feeling that consumes most Americans. We measure success on the amount of "things" we accomplish in a day.
What if you would wake up and listen to your body... Your soul... and really do and behave as it guides you?
If you would set aside the “must do’s” ... how much of your day is filled with time wasters that aren't necessarily moving you forward but just filling your time and thus ultimately giving you a sense you have been productive and busy because you were constantly doing something all day???
So take out a piece of paper.
1. List only the things you must do today. Ie. Pay a bill that’s due, go to work, cook dinner, play with kids, etc.
I want you to observe your habits as you go throughout the day.
How many times do you find yourself picking up your smart phone and checking emails and social media?
How many times do you find yourself scrolling through the news feed and before you know it you look at the time and realize a half hour or more has went by?
I am not against utilizing our smart phones. I have one and love it. The ability to communicate via calls, text or emails from anywhere is pretty amazing, but the key is utilize it and not let it use you!
When we cut out the unnecessary “time fillers” we can allow ourselves to “just be”… it’s not lazy, it’s not weird… it will however change your life. Because when you finally slow down enough to step out of the fast lane most Americans are in and strip away the expectations you and others have placed on yourself.
You will then find yourself in a really calm and friendly place… You will hear YOU…
So gently think about your life today… go slow… pause often… take LOTS of deep breaths… and gently be YOU.
