So.... How's Day 1 going for YOU??
If you are in Europe then your nearly winding down your day and if you are in the US than you've still got plenty of day light to accomplish what you've set out to streak this month!
Let me ask you some questions...
How did you determine what you wanted to make a priority and do daily for the next 30 days?
Has it been difficult getting the items on your streak list done along with all of your other obligations?
When I have set out to create new habits and break old ones it's always difficult in the beginning because we are creatures of habit and tend to do what we are comfortable with. But like the beautiful quote below says...
So do you want something different? Do you want to make some changes in your life... experience growth?
I took alot of time yesterday to be still... meditate and seek wisdom as to the areas I should commit to streaking. If you know me personally you know that I normally tend to take on ALOT and I used to run myself in the ground with exhaustion. But those days are over and now I appreciate the simple.. the quite.. the calm.. being true to myself and my life path.. embracing the beauty of the universe and living my passions.
For the next 30 days I've chosen some items I want to create more regular habits in my life. They all bring me tremendous joy and are in line with who I am and who I want to become.
Write at least 5 pages in my new novel
Meditate 2 times a day
12 pull ups
500 Ab exercises
Note to a loved one
Write a poem
I also downloaded a pretty cool app that tracks your streaks and habits and can be customized on a daily, weekly and monthly basis. You can track your progress and it keeps a count of your streak... Check it out.. it's called Habit Master
This morning I jumped out of bed and got straight on list of streak items... I am a coffee addict in the morning and love my first and normally only cup of coffee then... but this morning I decided I would not have my coffee until I returned from my run and started on a few items on my list... I probably ran faster than normal so I could get home to my coffee... :)
I mentioned yesterday I would share with you my "love to do" list and I will save that for a soon blog but what that list contains is habits that I've formed that I do on a daily/weekly basis that bring me joy, strengthen me and add to my self growth. I have done streaks in the past and one of the greatest benefits I've found is that you form a habit and when August ends you will want to continue doing what you've grown to love daily.
It's nearly 9pm here in Czech Republic and I've been working hard today to complete my goals... but I successfully completed them and Day 1 is under my belt.
Give your streak your best effort... remember if you want something different you must be willing to do something different.
